How much is anti-rust paint for steel, and which one do I need?

For steel that is already rusty or painted, SGP-001 (one-part moisture-curing polyurethane) goes straight over tight surface rust and sound old paint after loose rust is brushed off — no blasting, and one can works as primer, mid-coat and topcoat: ฿8,100 per 1 US Gallon. On a tight budget for general steelwork, NOVA Rust Shield: ฿5,070 per 1 US Gallon. For wet, damp or underwater steel, SGU-201 two-part solvent-free epoxy: from ฿2,560 per Size S (A 1kg + B 0.2kg). How much is anti-rust paint per gallon?

SGP-001: ฿8,100 per 1 US Gallon (also ฿2,030 per 1 US Quart). NOVA Rust Shield: ฿5,070 per 1 US Gallon. Prices are unit price, excluding 7% VAT. For a project, send the area and we quote the quantity.

Can I paint over rust?

With SGP-001, yes: remove rust that is flaking or powdery and paint that no longer adheres, then coat over the remaining tight surface rust. No blasting is needed — except on new steel, which should still be blasted first.

Do I need an anti-rust primer first?

Not with SGP-001: the same can is the primer, the mid-coat and the topcoat, or a single protective coat. SGU-201 also needs no primer.

Which surfaces can it go on?

SGP-001: steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, surface-rusted steel, previously painted steel, concrete, wood and plastic. Brush, roller or airless spray.

Is it suitable by the sea?

SGP-001 is specified for sea air, offshore structures, buildings, bridges and industrial areas (salt spray ASTM B117 2,000 h at 150 µm). Rust Shield is the budget option and is not recommended for harsh marine or chemical exposure.

The steel is wet or under water — which paint?

SGU-201 two-part solvent-free epoxy (VOC 0) is applied on dry, damp or submerged surfaces without pumping out or stopping the plant — from ฿2,560 per Size S (A 1kg + B 0.2kg). Budget option NOVA Aqua Shield from ฿1,000 per Set S (A 1.0kg + B 0.2kg).
